  • Baroque, in my opinion, is very similar in style and a great companion to Amplified Humans. Both releases had been recorded and edited in 1996 and each showcase a further development in style from material released before. Baroque showcases a much more varied use of stylistic composition and editing. There is still quite the bludgeoning of harsh styles used in years past, but there is a greater focus of contrast with quieter textured sections, proto-harsh noise walls, and there are even sections of live drums and guitar spliced into the feedback and distortion ridden tracks. Around 1996 and 1997, a noticeable slowdown of material is released by the classic duo of Joseph Roemer and Rodger Stella, who self admittedly had stopped recording as much in the years after 1995. However, both Baroque and Amplified Humans are excellent releases by Macro and should be part of any noise collection.
